January 2020, I rang in the new year in Gatlinburg, Tennessee at the edge of the Old Smokey Mountains. Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts had invited me to take a week long residency onsite to further my artistic process. During my time there, I worked on stained glass and jewelry designs including learning some newer processes such as powder-coating and sculptural glass.

The Pentaculum is week-long residency and retreat experience that allows you to live and work alongside other artists from across North America. This unique event at Arrowmont is specifically designed to provide artists with some unfettered time and space to work alongside peers, friends, and colleagues. This opportunity provides an intimate atmosphere for meaningful dialogue and social activities within the school’s studios. At its best, this retreat offers space for individual artistic growth alongside the opportunity to strengthen and build meaningful relationships within the art and craft field.
