With lavender & Lace

With Lavender & Lace began as a coming of age blog while Kelsie was in Boston for college about fashion, vintage and film photography. Years later became a vintage and handmade shop that was open from 2011-2015 in Norfolk, Virginia. The shop was the first of it's kind in the area to provided young creative types a place to find clothing and accessories that fit with their crafted aesthetics. It hosted events, shows, release parties, holiday dances and a fresh place to spend time and make new friends. This place was enormously special to the community and played a small role in the revitalizing of Norfolk''s new Arts District.

Our first location in 2011 was located behind a dive bar and was roughly 120sq feet.

We outgrew the baby shop and  in 2012 upgraded to a storefront in the Historic Neighborhood of Ghent.

Running a physical storefront for four years meant training in various areas of small business. Kelsie is now proficient in small business management, visual merchandising, customer service, community outreach, branding, styling and day-to-day operations.

With Lavender & Lace also existed as an art and design studio from 2013-2018. After a brush with success in 2013, McNair crafted thousands of floral iPhone cases in the studio, photographed shop items, worked on design projects and even ran a few workshops there.
